But that's one type of opportunity, you'd already have a common interest in what you're studying. You haven't made acquaintances from tutorials [if your course has them] or group work?
I can sympathize, though. My few friends consist of people from high school and someone I've known online for almost a decade whom I met through a game. Even then, they might not fit the definition of close friends. While I can feel secure around them there's rarely if ever intimate conversation. What kind of friend would you want? Also do you not get on with your housemates?
