Inner monologue is an inefficient mode of thought. Verbal thought overall is slow and wasteful of mental energy.
Verbal thought primes when it's time to give structure to the thoughts in order to communicate them to others.
Cerebral thought is necessary but there are other important modes of thought that are not often acknowledged.
Thinking in images and other forms of visualization, or in kinesthetic perceptions, is much much better for coming to any conclusion or truthful information.
