Section 5: The Divine Attributes
We spent a lot of time teaching about the existence of God, but now we need to show that this thing we showed actually is omnipotent, omnipresent, omniscient, good, perfect, personal, and so on.
Infinite: Since God is not contingent upon anything, he cannot be constrained by anything, making him infinite in every dimension. This goes especially for time and space. Since he is not bound to a certain point in time or a certain location, he is always and everywhere, giving us omnipresence.
Immaterial: Since God is prior to all matter, he is not material, thus immaterial.
Agency: Since God is that which is first and fundamental, he must also be that which acted first, which created and which sustains everything else. In fact, God cannot be passive, but is fully active and "alive".
Omnipotent: Since God is existence itself, he can call anything into existence, sustain it and let it vanish. All things with power especially derive their power ultimately from God.
Intelligence: Since God only created some things rather than nothing and rather than everything, he is obviously intelligent
Omniscience: Since God created all things, he obviously knows what he created.
Omnibenevolence: God only created some things and it wouldn't make sense to create things he doesn't want to exist (since he wills all into existence). Therefore, all that exist is actively wanted or at least allowed by him (in its imperfection).
Perfection: Since God lacks nothing, he cannot be made better, he is perfect.
