What I meant is that if Hermes isn't actually supposed to be talking in a literal sense, it doesn't assuredly mean that Kino has schizoid delusions because Kino no Tabi, as a form of media, could be symbolic in how it conveys Kino's thoughts. Maybe even the blurred line between literal fantasy and delusion is intentional.
