I agree with the people who say it takes a lot of gameplay beats from Sekiro. Even the structure of progression for obstacles seems almost identical. It's simplified a bit though which I don't think is necessarily a problem since the game is clearly focusing more on telling the story in a somewhat relaxed and accessible manner but I do sometimes find myself wishing there was more depth to the combat.
Having said that, The game looks very pretty and it's honestly been a while since I felt impressed by how genuine the characters in a game felt.
It's pretty clear that it's made by people who have a lot of experience with storytelling and visuals.
