>>4721181My understanding of the issue is that 4chan had tripfags on it when it first started and nobody gave a shit. Then shii advocates for anonymity and forces it on /b/ who eventually embrace it. Then since everyone on here is afraid to be called a newfag, everyone starts parroting the idea that anonymity is righteous since the then established users of /b/ liked it and then this idea that anonymity being the best still holds to this day site wide. What to take away from this, is that the pro-anonymity ideal literally had to be FORCED in the first place meaning that it's ultimately contrived in its roots. I'll admit there is a correlation with tripfags on /bant/ being shitposters but that doesn't make all tripfags inherently bad. Also even without tripcodes, it's always possible to recgonise users on different boards anyway
