With all these news about paid bounty to mercenaries in Afghanistan killing us troops, did I ever tell you my battalion lost an officer because of a Russian mercenary sniper? I remember that stuff like it was yesterday. The officer was a great guy. we went on manhunt for the mercenary and the locals helped us out but we never found the mercenary. We even conducted vehicle patrols and foot patrols. Also, called for constant close air surveillance with drones. It happened when we were beefing up security against terrorist attacks because the local Afghani were about to or conducting their elections.
