This concave theory is interesting though. It comes with many problems though, the least of which being infinite solidity. Not impossible, of course but for the Earth to be infinitely thick on the "outside" of the concave we'd exepct to see all manner of vibrational losses, so to type ie a pulse generated on the surface would simply recede for eternity. Kind of belied by the existence of earthquakes.
Unless of course it's a vacuum out there, I suppose? Then that raises other weird questions.
