a lot of bulgarians are fucking swarthy as fuck. but still, most people i know who come back from bucharest, even people who are by no means as racist or as woke as me come back wondering "wow, romanians sure look dark, don't they". even though like i said a lot of bulgarians are swarthy. i have no idea why that is, since they avoided ottoman occupation while we didn't, but there you have it.
