ok what I made a rough outline for a form that would easily allow people to submit their map even if they have nothing but ms paint
basically the background and foreground are the lower and upper layer respectively and the the spots for the character sprites are the up, down, left and right facing sprites (I've exuded the walking sprites since i assume everyone will be to lazy to make those so npc will just sit on their asses all day, just like their IRL counterparts) and if you want your character to not even bother to look people in the eye when they talk to them like some autist you only need to make the one sprite
I also include a key field so i can know what areas the player should be able to walk through , where you want the character to be and where the entrance / exit should be located
just include what you want your toon to say and any other notes in your post
