>>7268628>>7268630i feel like average post quality matters a lot. think of an extreme case like the kpop subreddit. surely there are some good posts there and you could just "ignore" ones you don't like and only engage with ones that you think are worthwhile, right? obviously most of us don't do that because there's way more posts that aren't worth reading than the number of those that are.
i don't want to show up here to have to skip over reading half of the posts and i imagine the same is true for most people otherwise we wouldn't have cripple hours when spammers show up. presumably that's also one of the reasons people would post here instead of mu, trash, or wsg
of course there's the additional point that people tend to look for like-minded communities. people will (usually) show up, stay, and adjust their posting style based on the posts they like. so the more posts there are that i would rather just skip over the more likely that it is someone new will show up and make the same type of posts.
considering all that i really don't think it's that crazy for me to get so riled up about posts i don't like, especially when i believe that i hold (albeit more extreme version of) the majority opinion.
