"natural" numbers can increase infinitely 1, 2, 3, ..., 999999999999, ...
"whole" numbers contain things like 0, -1, -2, ... idk why would you call nothing of something "whole"
"rational" numbers are invented to deal with something we can't count but can measure, and there are infinitely many "rational" numbers between 0 and 1
