Many Pagan and Asian religious beliefs see the eternal life as curse. The lowest part of Hell in Buddhism is Avici.
Avici is the reality of those who gained eternal life. It's the curse of never dying and staying forever alive without ever having the chance to drifting out to a place we could call a Nirvana to be really free.
Funny isn't it.
Anyway I would take the curse if I have the chance, but not through empty promises.
But this is just my opinion.
Think for yourself if you're a believer of something what you wish to gain from it.
