Worked in several call centers all throughout my 20's. Adderall addiction was rampant amongst the employees. In my first one out of college, there was probably 100 people and 80 of them were black. Me being a white guy, I was frequently sitting next to black women who would flirt with me. It was pretty cool. In another call center, it was a churn and burn type environment. They'd hire 20 employees every month. It paid about $20 an hour but the job sucked. Otherwise upstanding members of society like doctors, professors, and the like, would belittle you on the phone. This line of work turns you pessimistic. You begin seeing the worst in people because people will try to take their anger out on you. You talk to "Karens" every day and they will request to have calls pulled to get you fired. I don't miss call centers.
