>>2942380It's all bullshit. The salt = bad myth comes from like a century old experiment on rats that were given more salt than a human would possibly eat in a day. There is no evidence of salt having any negative affect on humans.
The same goes for fats. The american dietary guide last year removed the suggestion of not eating fats for people with high cholesterol as fat has no effect on dietary cholesterol in most people (only people affected are a tiny percentage who are fat sensitive because of genes)
All this shit was pushed by sugar companies in the 50's. They literally payed scientists to say that things like salt and fat were bad for the body when in reality its carbs and sugar. And what did these companies make? Soda, cereal, fake bread, etc corn, sugar, wheat based foods.
Here is an article talking about how carbs are linked to mortality
http://www.cell.com/cell-metabolism/abstract/S1550-4131(17)30562-4I know joe rogan is a dude weed lmao but he does have dietary experts on his show and they go deep into this. Worth watching. Last one was recent with chris kresser.
Tldr: salt and fats are fine, carbs (especially refined) and sugar are bad. Eat steak and butter, drop the soda.
