My point is a larger one. The entire ecosystem exists in a constant state of consumption and decay, and really the universe itself does the same thing due to entropy.
Plants are just as much living beings as anything else. And again, is an amoeba higher up in sentience than an oak tree? How about an ant or a clam?
Mushrooms are interesting because they're basically half way between plants and animals too.
I don't eat much meat these days anyway other than fish. I could kill a fish easier than I could kill a pig for example.
I could kill an ant or a clam or an amoeba easier than killing pic related though.
