>>19322116This could have been written by my own mother except that I'm not 6'4 and haven't had a gf. I can tell what the issue is here because I suffered it myself. Lax parenting. Notice how this post doesn't go any further back than high school? Do you think this father or the mother ever pushed him as a child, gave him the oppotunities to develop interests, gave him chores, punished him for wrongdoing or properly rewarded him for doing right? No. This will be a man who was raised on tv and internet. His parents are probably nice people, and they wouldn't have abused him. They would have fed him and clothed him, but not done the actual PARENTAL WORK needed to raise a child into a functioning adult (or at least a functioning man). Their daughter is doing well? That is not a surprise. A female does not need to do anything beyond exist and not be completely hideous and she will be carried through her life with no worries.
But yeah, you can tell these are parents didn't take an active role until they noticed in late adolescence that their kid wasn't going anywhere. And he probably won't ever go anywhere because he was left out to dry for his entire childhood. Also once you are 25 with no proper higher education, certs and crucially consistent work experience, you are fucked. What company will hire someone like us? I have no answers. Gen X and millenial parents can go to hell for being the useless shits they are.
