i honestly think the backlash they'd get for censoring isn't worth it. you also have to remember that wow is a pretty old game so it's got lots of old players who are used to spamming that type of shit 10+ years ago so they'd be pissed if that was taken away from them
unbelievably cringe. i will never understand why it's such a common problem for parents to be unable to let their kids do their own thing, especially into adulthood.
fortunately my parents are really great when it comes to this sort of thing but there are so few people i knew who i'd say have healthy relationships with their parents. it's all either super controlling, straight up neglect, flipping a switch from one to the other as soon as the kid turns 18, or trying to treat their kids like a genuine peer from a very early age which is probably the worst one
