If an afterlife, God, and salvation exist (which I believe do), they will not be found by scientific or physical means, which we learn from the story of the tower of Babel. God has put a veil over us, and we must live by faith. On extremely rare occasions, such as with prophets or NDEs, humanity is given a glimpse of His existence or existence of an afterlife, but we must choose to believe or not. I know this sounds frustrating, but this is how God set up this mortal test.
