Either way, it's not like fucking everybody would think the exact same way, the Underworld is a big place and she'd probably be fine with at least half of the people she sees so long as they know she's not reading their minds any more.
And that much would be enough for anyone. If she still goes and mutilates herself, now it's just being an edgy retard.
Let alone her in particular, like I said, it should be practice for her entire fucking species up to that point to be doing this, long before she's even born, so she wouldn't even have the issue from the beginning. That's just a fail in worldbuilding.
