Not surprised, it's more that I don't get why they would prepare it in a way that makes it objectively worse when it's supposedly "traditional".
Yes, it's supposed to still be clearly fish like and served as a fillet, not mashed together like a heap of jello. Also, using melted butter with bacon bits and various sides. It's so bland on it's own that consistency and sides become the primary aspect of it.
