If there are too many threads that go by to the point of enough user complaints or the board is flooded with HG threads to the point where they make up even 10% of the board, then things may get brought to their attention and get forced to care about the board.
That's my problem really. Just because they don't care now doesn't mean they won't care later. You've seen how jannies act.
Remember the time when a pissy mod entered the HG threads and tried to ban anyone that posted in it because "we were breaking the rules of avatarfagging" and "just becaude it isn't enforced doesn't mean it isn't in-place"? Aikawa had to go into the IRC and call out his bullshit? Mods are always super hars to read, and you never know what could happen.
