I wish I had that picture of a post from here explaining how there will be no sudden collapse, only a slow decline where you notice your work hours expanding and time with loved ones decreasing, prices slowly going up. It's exactly what I see happening in the modern day. It also reminds me very much of the atmosphere painted in Nineteen Eighty-Four.
