Smartphones.
The smartphone meant every normie was suddenly on the internet all day long, shitting it up, and the internet itself had to cater to them, that's why these days all websites and software are increasingly tailored to be like smartphone apps. At some point soon the internet itself will not have 'websites' anymore but it will be one hub of sites owned by google, so you'll have youtube, twitter, fb, etc, all in one thing, and that will be what 'the internet' exists as. Zoomers have barely ever had to type in a URL into an address bar so they will not even notice the difference. And when that happens the internet as we know it will be fully dead.
If you're a 30 year old boomer you can still remember the days before this where being someone who was on the internet a lot was considered nerdy and sad by the normies.
