>>719026Einstein did a little thought experiment on light. Given it's apparent inability to propagate through a vacuum at any speed beyond C... Hypothetically... if your conscious observation were riding on a beam of light... What would you see? This is the thought experiment from which special relativity was worked out.
In order to reconcile the universal observation of C with natural experiences strange things begin to happen. A moving observer will see space and time distort relative to their speed and direction in order to reconcile C with a stationary observer witnessing the same thing. The end result is that their watches will tick out of sync with one another and objects and space itself will appear distorted while the observers are in a different frame of reference. Madness. But madness that became testable as the science and technology advanced going into the 20th century. And to quickly explain the phenomenon Einstein worked out the lesser known theory of General Relativity. Which attempts to create a model of space by which relativistic distortion makes perfect sense.
