It's understandable even though it's not justifiable, mecha's gradually becoming more niche and new blood in the industry would rather draw characters because they didn't grow up with as much mecha as the older vanguard.
What's really fucking depressing that basic real-life things like cars and trains are almost all CGI now. Retards can't fucking draw or animate cars anymore.
