>>13188225Look anon, I'm an actual ceremonial magician from THE Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn & Rosicrucian Alpha et Omega.
THE KYBALION IS NOT HERMETICISM.
IT WAS NOT WRITTEN BY "THREE INITIATES"
IT WAS WRITTEN BY WILLIAM WALKER ATKINSON WHO PUBLISHED BOOKS UNDER SEVERAL STUPID NAMES
IT'S NOT HERMETICISM, IT'S "NEW THOUGHT", A NEW AGE NONSENSE STARTED BY THIS LAD.
You could EASILY go to /x/ and /lit/ for others to give you the same stupid explaination.
The Kybalion contains A FEW Hermetic sayings from the Emerald Tablet. That's it.
It does have some (SOME) value, like when it talks about correspondence, duality and the Ultimate Reality. Needless to say, it is NOT Hermeticism and there's nothing that makes it inherently Hermetic.
Its explainations on the "planes of existence" IS COMPLETELY WACK & NOT BASED ON HERMETIC TRADITION AT ALL, 100% MADE UP NONSENSE, WHICH IT ALSO ONLY HALF-EXPLAINS.
If you want Hermeticism, read THE CORPUS HERMETICUM, THE EMERALD TABLET and THE ASCLEPIUS.
"The Kybalion" and "The Emerald Tablets of Thoth the Atlantean" are filthy New Age fabrications.
And if you seek true knowledge, apart from those 3 texts you could try reading
- The Tao Te Ching (Gia Fu Feng translation)
- The 16 Upanishads (especially the Chandogya Upanishad & Mundaka Upanishad)
- The Sepher Yetzirah
- The Zohar
- The 4 Vedas
- The 66 books that make up the Old & New Testament
- The I Ching
- The Baghavad-Gita
- The Dharmapada
- The Yoga Vasishtha (greatest book on earth)
Additionally if you specifically want practical konwledge on HERMETIC Magic, you could read
- The Ritual Magick Manual (by David Griffin)
- Liber 777 (published by Crowley but mostly written by the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn)
- The Complete Golden Dawn System of Magic (by Israel Regardie)
- A Kabbalistic Handbook for the Practicing Magician (by Joseph C. Lisiewski)
And of course, studying Pythagorean Numerology is a GREAT source of knowledge as well.
Have fun, lvx.
