I think women like these shows so much is because women don't actually buy the "girl power" propaganda that much and really use the shows as an escapism tactic. Think about. This is man vs self. They always tell the Mary Sue in these movies you're special. The women see this and know that the Mary Sue is different. It represents their "competition". They never represent the average ability of an average woman. They never say every woman is a genius.
Males irl fail and males in movies fail. Males irl keep trying and win and males in movies keep trying and win. This and the male protagonist's imperfections makes them more reliable and there more of an inspiration than any Mary Sue.
Males that had failed because of themselves and improve motivated me more than these bitch ass hos. Yourself is something you can always improve.
