Not everything the Pope says is infallible, papal infallibility has only been used twice in the history of the Church, to declare the Immaculate Conception and the Assumption of Mary. Whenever the Pope makes an ambiguous comment, we have the Catechism and our 2000 year old tradition to fall back on.
Don't worry too much about it, focus on your sanctification, remember that Christ promised us that He would be with the Church until the end of time and that the gates of hell would never prevail against her.
Don't listen to the Protestants and their heresies, what they believe was believed by no Christian until Luther invented the Protestants in the 16th century. Most of what they say is heretical, worthless and should be instantly discarded.
