Most of the American population is concentrated in large cities or in metropolitan areas of large cities, and there's nothing wrong with that because that is a near-universal conditions. What's also not unique is rural poverty, which is widespread in America. Rural poverty has dropped significantly in China since 2000 due to heavy regional investment, all of which you can read about online.
