The building the officer entered was a dilapidated construction of wooden planks and Chinese concrete held together by nothing more than a few dollops of warm mayonnaise. I would not have been surprised if it had collapsed in on itself the moment the officer opened the door. Luckily for the officer, and unluckily for the detainees, the building held and a few minutes later the officer came out dragging along a worn, black duffel bag.
Like a swarm of homosexuals that had spotted a child, the policemen swarmed the bag and began tearing it apart, searching for whatever was inside. The bag was emptied within moments, and each officer had acquired a curious, brown object that they began to inspect closely. This went on for a while, before a shout erupted from one of the officers. He raised the object in the air, as if to show the world an achievement that could blind God's angels themselves, before tossing it at one of the detained children. I had initially believed the object to be an American football, as while it sailed through the air, I observed a streak of white on it. But I was soon proven wrong, as the aforementioned officer barked an order for the other officers to open fire.
Two dozens rifles were raised from their resting positions and pointed toward the detainees, who cowered on the spot. Even when faced with such a pitiful target, the officers did not hesitate, and cut them down where they stood, The booming gunshots broke the atmosphere of that quiet afternoon, whilst the brass casings and warm bodies fell, each one equally alive as the other.
I stood there in shock, for in my mind a group of innocents had been massacred in cold blood. I wanted to turn away, to run away from the horrific sight my eyes beheld. But I remained rooted in place, watching as the bodies twitched and moaned in their final death throes.
