>>10720821Gehazi's leprosy was to cling to him "forever" (olam) (2 Kings 5:27), which meant as long as he lived. Forever lasts until death, forever has an end. Death kills forever. Forever ends at death. The lake of fire is the second death, and the last enemy to be destroyed is death. (1 Corinthians 15:25-26). Now if forever dies at death, and the lake of fire is the second death, what happens when death itself dies? Life! Later on in this letter, I will prove to you that Jesus the savior of the world saves the world, Jesus saves everyone in the end. Hell is not forever! The number one thing that keeps people from seeing the full counsel of God is the doctrine of eternal torment, once you realize forever does not mean forever everything else clicks into place.
2 Kings 5:27
King James Version
27 The leprosy therefore of Naaman shall cleave unto thee, and unto thy seed for ever. And he went out from his presence a leper as white as snow.
1 Corinthians 15:25-26 King James Version
25 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.
26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.
Isaiah states that "the palaces will be forsaken, the bustling city will be deserted, the forts and towers will become lairs forever" (olam) - that is, "until the Spirit is poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness becomes a fruitful field, and the fruitful field is deemed a forest" (Isaiah 32:14-15). Forever has an end, and its end is until. Forever did not last forever.
Isaiah 32:14-15
King James Version
14 Because the palaces shall be forsaken; the multitude of the city shall be left; the forts and towers shall be for dens for ever, a joy of wild asses, a pasture of flocks;
15 Until the spirit be poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness be a fruitful field, and the fruitful field be counted for a forest.
