its about in which state of relaxation you are. you can only get into trance when you are relaxed, like realy relaxed. your whole body is vibrating in that state and you are active inside your body like fly around in it with these vibrations. you become these vibrations. it may sound dumb but you are like on meth but only in your head. and when you concentrate this vibrations to your vision you see the patern. you have to have your eyes semi closed so like you look through your wimps. with eyes opened it wouldnt work, you would squint.
