Barbecue however has been an American classic. I use the word Barbecue to describe any process of grilling and smoking meats over a wood fired/charcoal pit or physical grill.
>inb4 lol amerimutts eat food that’s cooked over wood...my country of *insert random Euro/Asian/South American* has more refined and elegant food.That’s okay, but until you’ve had a some brisket that’s been smoked slowly for 18 hours over fresh cut oak wood, paired with some fresh corn bread, mac’n’cheese with enough cheese to kill a man, and some fresh crisp cole slaw or from scratch baked beans you really can’t speak on the matter. Yes, Americans are fatter than most western nations. Yes, our portion sizes are typically too big. Our food is damn good though.
