When I was a teenager, we had a mixed karate group - males and females aged 10 to 20. The coach would try not to mix the ages too much, but females would fight males all the time (btw, they suck at fighting).
I gotta tell you: beating on women and kids is the most fun!
Moreover, in a real street fight situation, who would you rather fight: a weak, clumsy girl who doesn't know what she's doing or a ripped 250 pound athlete armed with a piece of rebar?
