The trouble is, Americans drink every weekend, and Euro's drink every day.
This came about when booze became relatively cheap.
The "mighty men of old" did not drink, except on festival days and special occasions, with the exception of royalty, who could afford it every day...and they turned into a bunch of bloated, weak, perverted assholes.
Drink sparingly, and if you can, make your own booze. Dedicate it to your ancestors, and pour some into the fire, to drink with them.
And don't drink so much you become a moron.
