Bombing of urban centers had never been prohibited, and even if it had, ALL PARTIES in the world engaged in strategic bombardment.
NOT A SINGLE, german or japanese war criminal was punished or judged for any strategic bombardment measures.

The trials weren't perfect, there was a lot of questions about jurisdiction and what not, but it was the best justice that could have befallen these guys.
at any other time, they would ALL, without trial, being lined against a wall and shot.
