Dont deceive yourselves, using your faith and trust in God as an excuse for passivity and ignorance of evil. As many say "God can take care of things Himself" and "God doesnt need me to do the good". They are right that God can and doesnt need, but beyond that they miss the point.
Did God not command Judah and Israel to cut down the Ashera poles and tear down the Altar? Did they remain standing because God couldnt get rid of them? Or was it rather that God provided us a way to show our faithfulness by doing it ourselves?
Was God not able to tear down the walls of Jericho himself without Joshua marching around the city, after parting the sea and destroying the egyptian army? Was it not rather that Israel could prove her faith?
Likewise today God tolerates the wickedness to give us a chance to be rightous and faithful, and most importantly repent and turn to God, for which we are given all the time in the world as our brother Peter wrote us
>8Beloved, do not let this one thing escape your notice: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.c 9The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise as some understand slowness, but is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish but everyone to come to repentance.
He remains passive so that we can be active, correct our ways and may not perish, that we may "Repent and Live".
The faith and trust in God is not there for you to remain ignorant. Its faith that God takes care of the things that we can not. Its trust that the things we sacrifice in His name are not in vain and will be regretted later on. Its the courage to run into danger in order to do his work, saving the fatherless and widows.
Its the hope that no matter how bleak things may become, that we wont be forsaken so that we can keep going strong and not lose our bravery
As Paul tells us
>1Now faith is the assurance of what we hope for and the certainty of what we do not see.
