You can pay $.49 for a shitty hamburger at some gas station off the interstate, or you can pay $17 for one in an artisanal gastropub. You might be just as baffled why someone might do this, but you certainly wouldn’t begrudge the restaurant owner, or actively try to get them shut down. It’s capitalism. The market indicates what people want and the people vote with their dollars. I’m not sure what’s so confusing about it, but one thing’s for sure a lot of people around here are mighty butthurt about it
