You came at a good time, the FARC are supposedly over and rural Colombia is looking safer by the day. make sure you know where you're going to, and always travel in groups (obvious info I know, just make sure everyone that travels here is safe)
Hopefully I'll have enough money to one day buy a finca and live off the land. I used to live in small town Georgia and loved the feeling of isolation and tranquility, while at the same time having enough neighbors to still have a comfy community.
