Jesus is God, who reconciled mankind to Himself through His substitutionary death on the cross.
We have all sinned and deserve to burn in hell for eternity, death as eternal separation from the God who loves you.
He paid for your pardon with His blood.
He rose from the grave to show you that He will do the same for you.
Don't confess to a preist.
Confess to Jesus.
Pour out your heart to Him and ask Him to save you.
He already has...if you'll just look to Him and trust Him.
That is all we do in salvation.
