If I wanted to make a video game I would have to get my own art, or track down the original artists and get a licensing deal with them. Using unlicensed art found on the internet in a commercial product is a good way to get sued!
I've been working on some worldbuilding projects for a while, but I honestly don't really feel like letting my friends loose in the world I've spent the most time on. They would just pick races that don't fit with the setting and proceed with creating chaos everywhere like a band of murderhobos. So I'll probably just make a separate little world for them to mess around in, and then borrow heavily back and forth between my settings, as well as from other sources.
