But I've always been a hiker. That's what drew me in even fat and out of shape I could pack my cameras and gear into the woods or out in the desert 10 miles and back no problem. I started walking to listen to audiobooks and ran out of streets... My town is like 60k people. So I started running. I found once the muscles were conditioned I could go for hours and I really started enjoying that. It's a very free feeling to run off down the sidewalk and just go and go and go and go...
Shoes are getting expensive though. I've had two strains/injuries that have sidelines me for a few weeks at a time. now I'm stretching and using targets resistance training to prevent that.
