I don’t know if it’s the same in other countries but in the US it’s fucked. Trades are dead; mechanics and electricians work 10-12 hours six days a week to barely scrape by, that’s why nobody wants to work them, that’s why we can’t get future tradesmen. Boomers like Mike Rowe insist it’s because “nobody wants to work” which is actually true only in the loosest sense. Nobody wants to work a shitty job and barely scrap by on $13.80 an hour if fast-food is unironically paying more. Mike dude, no trade worker today in the US is clearing 30k a year, and I know, trust me. Most these dudes barely clear rent or break even on tools/training. It isn't a trade anymore, Mike Rowe you pompous ass. It's debt-slavery for mechanics and plumbers, and unless a lot of shit changes soon, it's going to stay that way.

My advice to anyone looking to go to community college stay the fuck outta trades, if you have the brain for it go into IT, medical or finance, all are practically future-proof industries.
