I've been in and out of it
It's like trying to get an old lawnmower to start, takes a lot of work and a lot more revving than it ever should
But once you get it going again, it keeps itself running better if you use it frequently
But it hacks away at the moral fibre and willpower which allows you to do so, in this way, it hampers your core ability to return from out of it. The longer you leave it unchecked the worse it becomes to get out
Medications as ever, are the 'easy' way out. Aka quick, short term relief that is massively detrimental in the long run. Never ever a cure, never ever go for them if you do become depressed
The OP image is to some degree correct however, in order to come out of depression, you require mental reworking. You need to learn how to see positives in things instead of constant negatives, and nihilistic pointless doubting. Such things are horribly prominent in today's egoist meaningless, materialistic society
