The LXX is the oldest compilation of levantine farytales from ~300BC originally in Greek in Alexandria so a good understanding of the hellenized levant and Egypt are necessary to understanding any direct translation.
The Jesus Saga was introduced by the book of Mark also written in Greek but in the city of Rome. Most hellenized jews converted to christianity as a result of Mark. The other books of the nt were written post 100AD, Mark was written in 70AD, the same year the Romans sacked Jerusalem and destroyed the 2nd temple.
