The Cold War is over, communism and Russia lost. What’s to point of pretending otherwise? Why is Russia so scared of NATO? Why not just join them and the EU? Why continue pretending to be some world superpower that you’re not? Pretty much every important country that was a part of the eastern bloc embraced the west with open arms and Russia always conveniently forgets this fact. Putin and his cronies (and to an extent our boomer western leaders as well) are stuck living in the 1980s.
