if they grow out of it on their own then thats good, and ig its best to give them a chance on that instead of abruptly severing it all
nudging them towards it at least is good, because like you said doing nothing is also bad. itd just have to be gradual and not forced, because honestly that leads into people just going back into whatever vice they were trying to get away from in the first place.
