after giving it more thought i think i would be able to graduate at the end of spring 2022 if i take a heavy course load or i could opt not to go to japan in the summer and instead go for a year (spanning fall 2022 and spring 2023) and still get my final credits in japan at the same time i would with the original plan.
of course it doesn't actually matter if my final credits are done in japan since i'll have to come back to the US regardless before moving there permanently
