An anecdotal example is my dad. He's 64 and white as fucking cocaine while somehow being as lame as a one legged mule but when he's excited to do something like rent a boat to go fishing he instantly turns into an 8 year old kid waiting outside the rental shop for 3 hours for the people to show up.
Adults act like children because being an adult sucks ass and there's things we wanted to do that we couldn't when we were young that are still fun. Sometimes I jump on the bed with my wife just because we can.
One day you'll understand that it's better to larp as a kid when you're not needing to do adult things than larp as an adult when you're doing kid stuff.
